Taichung Airport Transfer Price: Per Car, Not Per Person
If you are searching for the Taichung Airport transfer price, the question is simple: how much is a ride between Taichung International Airport (Ching Chuang Kang, code RMQ) and your home or hotel? The short answer: a Rayway GO Taichung airport transfer is priced per one-way trip, per car. Within Taichung City, a drop-off starts at NT$800 and a pickup at NT$950 (sedan); the 8-seat van is NT$100 more.
It is not a meter and not "we'll discuss it when you arrive" — the price depends on the district you are going to or from, pickup or drop-off, and vehicle type, and you can see it on the website before you book. Below are the prices for Taichung's districts and nearby counties, what adds to the cost, and how it compares with the bus and taxis.

These are starting prices for each area; some remote townships carry a surcharge. The most accurate way is to enter your address in the instant online quote, which includes any remote-area surcharge. The full list is on the prices page.
How the Price Is Worked Out
The total is mainly made up of the following items:
- Pickup costs NT$150 more than drop-off: the driver has to arrive early, park and wait at the airport, so pickup = drop-off price + NT$150.
- Vehicle: the sedan takes up to 4 passengers; the 8-seat van (Mercedes-Benz Vito or similar) takes up to 8 and costs NT$100 more. With lots of luggage, a stroller or golf bags, the van is the safer choice.
- Late-night surcharge: +NT$150 per trip when pickup time is between 00:00 and 07:00. Early-morning flights to Japan and Korea often fall in this window, so enter the correct time when you get a quote.
- Remote-area surcharge: e.g. Heping District or Ren'ai Township, as listed above.
- Optional extras: infant or child car seat +NT$200 each, booster seat +NT$150 each, carrying luggage upstairs +NT$100 per item, traveling with a pet +NT$100.
Example: a family of four in Xitun District catching a 6 a.m. flight, picked up at 5 a.m.: sedan NT$800 + late-night NT$150 = NT$950, or NT$1,050 in the van.
Bus vs Taxi vs Pre-booked Transfer

Ching Chuang Kang Airport sits northwest of central Taichung, around the Shalu / Daya area, some distance from Taichung Station and the Xitun business district. The three usual options:
- City bus: routes such as 302 and 500 run toward Taichung Station. They are cheap, but stop often and the ride is often around an hour; check Taichung's official bus information for schedules and last buses. Great if you are alone, packing light and not in a hurry.
- Taxi: there is a taxi rank at the airport. Taxis use the Taichung meter tariff (flag fall around NT$85, with a late-night surcharge), so the final fare depends on distance and traffic and you won't know it in advance. A larger group may need two cars.
- Pre-booked transfer: the price is fixed before you travel and one car takes you to the door — easiest for two or more people, big luggage, kids or older travelers, and very early or late flights.
In short: solo and light, take the bus; two or three people or an awkward flight time, a pre-booked transfer is usually better value and less stress.
Free Waiting Time: 90 Minutes for Pickups, 30 for Drop-offs

After an international landing you still have immigration and baggage claim, which are hard to predict. Taichung airport pickups include 90 minutes of free waiting, and drop-offs (pickup at your address) include 30 minutes.
- Enter your flight number when booking a pickup so we can follow your actual arrival time.
- After you clear customs the driver waits in the arrivals hall, and the meeting point is arranged with you in advance by phone or message.
- For drop-offs, plan to reach the airport at least 2 hours before departure, and earlier for international flights in peak season.
Straight from the Airport to Sun Moon Lake or Cingjing

Many travelers landing in Taichung head straight for Sun Moon Lake or Cingjing Farm. A transfer drops you at your lakeside or mountain lodging without changing buses:
- Taichung Airport → Sun Moon Lake (Yuchi, Nantou): pickup NT$1,750 sedan, NT$1,850 van.
- Taichung Airport → Cingjing (Ren'ai, Nantou): pickup NT$2,250 sedan, NT$2,350 van.
If you'd rather sightsee on the way, a full-day charter is more flexible — see the Sun Moon Lake day charter from Taichung. For two or three days around Hehuanshan and Cingjing, read Taichung mountain charter prices and itineraries.
